The physical product has now been delayed until the end of December and given how things work out with mail due to holidays, we are practically guaranteed to not see it until next year despite ordering it in October.
The whole point of pre-ordering is to get materials on hand sooner rather than later so none of us having access to the digital product now makes a pre-order rather pointless.
If the digital product leaves out key information (which wasn't advertised) for creating games and so on, for DMs (like me) the digital product is relatively worthless compared to the physical which I can't even see for like two months minimum.
To say this all is grounds for refunds, cancellations and so forth is putting it lightly.
Presently, my order is still Pending. And for some, it has been that way for over a week. We require a response, otherwise, this will snowball into (yet) another controversy for WotC.
I believe you can only access the digital product at this time if you do the Digital and Physical Bundle Pre-Order
Yes, that’s correct. I already acknowledged as much.
My point is that I pre-ordered the digital-only version and I don’t yet have access—but I also don’t actually want access anymore. Given the announcement that significant portions of the digital-only version aren’t going to be supported by DDB (which is the entire reason I bought the book on DDB), I’d rather just never get access and instead have my money back. At the time I paid, DDB had not provided any information about content being unsupported; I assumed based on years of past precedent that maybe one or two bits might not ever be properly implemented, but I had no reason to expect the sheer amount of content that would not be properly usable—and I would not have purchased in the first place if I’d known.
the digital version of the book does not contain “the accompanying The reference book” that tells you what the cards mean, to use it for encounter building and the new extra uses for the deck…kinda makes the digital version useless, and with the physical version delayed its even more important to have this asset…not to mention I would like to have a digital version of it, so I can always find it and look things up quickly.
“ WHAT DO THE CARDS MEAN: The "Card Sparks" and "Journey Spread" sections ask you to interpret cards based on their assigned meaning. The reference book that accompanies The Deck of Many Things describes meanings for those cards, and the Curse of Strahd adventure summarizes the meanings of tarokka cards. Various books and websites explain the meanings of tarot cards.’”
it would be nice to have a digital version of the cards also and some sort of randomizer, but I realize that would take assets but the reference book should be included. Otherwise, this book digital copy usability is severely hampered, it’s like a map with no legend.
am I wrong? Is it included somewhere? And I’m just missing it?
Same problem. Despite pre-ordering the bundle, the button to unlock the activation key is just not there.
EDIT: yeah turns out paypal hasn't been billed for the pre-order yet. I had to manually activate the billing on the dndstore and now it works.
For those asking what I did: In my pre-order confirmation mail, there was this text:
Please note that you have not yet been charged for your order. We will notify you by email before we debit your account. This usually occurs shortly before orders are shipped to customers, though customers with large orders may be charged after the preorder window has closed. Customers who are to be billed shortly after the sale has ended were notified during checkout and will receive a separate email.
Basically, as far as I understand it, the order still wasn't billed to paypal (in my case, but probably similar with other payment options). Under the text there was a link that led to the dndstore page where I had a button to immediately "Debit my pre-order". I clicked that and immediately got a mail from paypal, that the billing went through (order status changed to "validated") and I could access my activation key.
I purchased the digital + physical bundle on 10/29 and never saw a processed payment. I could not find the order on my order history, despite having a confirmation email. This morning I decided to put in a cancel request on that order and submit a new order. That was nearly 6 hours ago and the order is still payment pending. I used my verified PayPal account and approved the transaction but it still shows pending and nothing appears on PayPal.
It blows my mind that every other online storefront can process my payment immediately and I am now waiting over 5 hours for my second attempt to order this product. I should not have to beg a company to take my money and I pre-ordered the bundle specifically because I wanted early access to the digital copy that I still do not have a key for. What can I do to actually get the dndstore to process my payment?

Hi there!
This link isn't actually usable for me, since I did not buy through that site (but rather directly through the Marketplace on this site). As I've expressed, I did so under the assumption that there would not be a significant amount of content unsupported - a reasonable assumption, in my opinion, since few if any previous releases have had so much of their content unsupported and DDB notably did not communicate the lack of support until yesterday (long after they'd taken my money). As I have repeatedly expressed, I would not have purchased in the first place if I had known that this release would not meet previously-established precedents in terms of the amount of its content that would be supported - but I had no way of knowing this at the time I purchased, since DDB did not communicate it until very recently.
Because I bought the digital-only version, I do not yet have access. I would like to have my issue acknowledged and addressed before the 14th, as I anticipate it will be much more difficult to address once I have access to the book. I do not want to file a chargeback with my bank. I do trust that my bank would uphold the chargeback if I were to file it, since the product is not going to be usable to the extent I expected and this fact was not communicated until long after DDB had taken my money. However, I know that course of action would be likely to create negative outcomes for both DDB and for myself, so I would prefer to handle this without involving the bank if at all possible.
Please advise me on how I should go about doing this, with the understanding that the link you've posted is not usable for me.
Many of us are still waiting on our 'Pending' orders, and no response from WotC. Support tickets are going unanswered. What is one to do in this situation?
Does anyone else's redemption page on D&D Store claim "This product will be available on: 2023-11-08" in red text?
From my understanding this is not the original release date of Nov 14 nor the updated release of 12/31 AKA Maybe sometime this year? (I guess it could be headroom for the product to ship on release date for the OG release date)
My guess is that the programming of the launch date is what caused our cards/accounts to not be charged.
They almost certainly messed up the product backend when they scrambled to make the changes for the delay. Considering the main issue is that most of us haven't even been charged the amount (an action that was almost instant on all other orders) it has to be something related to the payment automated programming bc they are not the type of site that only charges when the physical product ships.
Out of curiosity, does anyone know how you could go about canceling your order on dndstore? I'm not seeing anything on my order history or account or anything that would allow me to do that. I sent a support ticket in, but if there's anything I can do to take care of it myself and quickly, that would be great.
I pre-ordered the digital version which stated early access would be made available Tuesday, October 31, but this doesn't appear to be the case, as I don't have access to it currently. Is this an issue with the digital system?

Early access only applies to the digital + physical bundle pre-order, not the solely digital pre-order
As of 10 min ago I have heard back from customer support and they say they are in the process of canceling my second order and fulfilling my first so I can get the EA code. I will report back on this post the results if and when I get in and any other info I receive.
EDIT: Support has removed my duplicate order and I can see that it canceled on my account. They have yet to acknowledge or address the "pending" issue so many of us are experiencing. (BE WARY: My ticket was escalated and changed category to an "Order Cancellation" issue, the rep was focused on cancelling my duplicate above solving the "pending" issue. Anyone else who gets access to a rep please stress the "pending" issue.)
To top it off, I am having very similar issues (ordered the Digital/Physical Bundle, no activation key or anything received), and I've now placed a total of 5 support tickets over the last 2 days. I keep getting automated responses followed by the support ticket being labelled as "Solved" and closed. I also took the advice of the FAQ and now have 2 purchases pending to no avail, and not even any confirmation that I won't be billed twice, despite following what the FAQ said and placing another purchase after an order is left pending for over 4 hours (it had been 24 hours).

So can we get an official response?
This is getting pretty ridiculous.

Yea I need a generic fluff response at least, no response is just foolish WOTC.

Thanks for the attempted assist. Sadly, my confirmation email doesn't contain any of that text. Good knowledge to have for the future tho.

I have the same issue. It even shows in my entitlements, but I can't access the sourcebook.

2 tickets 24 hours no response nice if there was just a cancel order button.
