Description
An axe beak is a tall flightless bird with strong legs and a heavy, wedge-shaped beak. It has a nasty disposition and tends to attack any unfamiliar creature that wanders too close.
We had our Kenku ride a summoned axe beak into battle once.....
Go go chocobo.
This is the comment I came for.
Maul Beaks are a bit more hardy
this is the peak dog substitute for dwarf fortress
I'm sorry, but I MUST hear that story! XD
My Bard X Dis
Oh, you’re right. This is straight up a Chocoba.
Random reason to look up the Axe Beak, they a homebrew background option for a Rodéo Rancher critter. Didn't know what Axe Beak's were, but now they super cool idea for a farm animal.
I would like to know at what age an Axe Beak Fledgling matures into an adult, and how long that would take. if there is any info anywhere about this i would greatly appreciate it.
My halfling rogue is riding this thing around
I got this as a pet he is called quaq.
yes
The Axe Beak were once more numerous in the great plains. They were the preferred mount of the Nothyde Bugbear Totem Spirit Barbarians. The level 6 elk aspect allowed their bands to move with a speed beyond that of the old kingdom making their attacks appear to take place through the entire kingdom. The war leader Harden Fast used these riders to decimate the supplies convoys for the old kingdoms chevaliers and knights. Trained warhorses perished after the extensive pursuit as the Nothyde used superior speed in retreating skirmish lines. Only late in the war was the use of wagoned ballistae and delaying tactics was the old kingdom able to get a stalemate. But in the treacherous peace, the old kingdoms use of dark magic led many of the Axe Beak to be infected with a plague. This sickness created the ill-temper and makes the Axe Beak very difficult to train.
These should gain the Arctic tag now given Ice Wind Dale.
Can we get the picture from The new adventure?
I personally prefer Flailbeaks and Crossbowbeaks.
Agreed
A perfect playmate for small children!
Wouldn't this be fixable with either a cure disease, remove curse or Greater restoration on just a couple individuals to produce really good friendly breeding stock?
